The Sacramento Police Department says all of its leads have been exhausted in the search for a dump truck hit-and-run driver who was caught on camera. Detectives are now asking for the public's help.

The hit-and-run seriously injured a woman and damaged eight vehicles, police said. It happened on June 30 on Fruitridge Road in the south Sacramento area in the parking lot of the Bel Air grocery store.

Exclusive surveillance video obtained by KCRA 3 shows a large unmarked dump truck driving westbound on Fruitridge Road when it suddenly drives off the road, over the sidewalk, and into the market's parking lot.

Seconds later, the video shows the truck drive away from the scene without stopping.

Police say they can't confirm who the truck belonged to or who was driving it. They do not have a license plate number at this time, despite having multiple videos of the collision.

As police search for the person responsible and their motive, they ask the community to come forward if they have any information or video of this "horrific collision." You can call the department at 916-808-5471.

Heather Martinez was identified by her family and attorney as the woman severely hurt in the collision.

The retired state worker had just pulled into the grocery store when she was hit, according to her brother Dennis Johnson. She has been in the hospital ever since.

"She is fighting, and it's a fight every single day," Johnson told KCRA 3. "We just hope we catch this guy."

Johnson said his sister has had at least six surgeries over the past five weeks.

He and her attorney say her internal organs are badly injured. Doctors are still trying to figure out if she has any brain damage.

Johnson said he has a message for the person who hit his sister, then drove away.

"I want to tell that person to turn themselves in because eventually they will be found," Johnson said. "It's going to be worse if they wait longer ... This is my sister. These are our lives at stake here. Over the days and nights, you should come to determine this is more than just about you. Help everybody by turning yourself in."
